Creator Modes: Hard vs Easy vs Parallel
Hi again! This is Pranshu 👋You can check out Part 1 of the launch series here.🙃In this part (2/3) :
I will talk about the factors behind our choices as Creators
Compare what I call Creator Modes: Hard vs Easy vs Parallel
Explain what the most crucial currency aka North Star for Creators is
Note: You are getting this if you purchased a Gumroad product or have directly subscribed. Please bring this to your Primary inbox if it is Promotions right now :)As promised, I have 3 gifts you will LOVE, especially as a Twitter person. I will give away one gift in each of the 3 parts (scroll to bottom). On that note, Let's begin! 🎉
Our Choices as Creators
The most common "limiting" resources are money, time & energy to get things done. Think about it.
You could have both the time & financial position to chase a career as a true Creator, but if you can't summon the energy to do it on a daily basis - it will never happen!
So the "Currencies" of our Choices are (almost always) Time, Money or Energy.
Until you become a Sovereign Creator, you NEED to be super consistent with your audience-building & monetization efforts, esp in the initial 6-12 months.
And you WILL need to invest (in the form of effort for learning, tools, hired help, coaching etc) in the initial stages until you have got the flywheels turning smoothly.
Here's a truth (from direct experience) that will be hard to accept :
You can forget about properly attempting a Creator career if:
You can't manage your energy & are not familiar with concepts of self-development (including lacking a WHY to choose this path, being unfit & having toxicity in your life)
You have bills to pay & financial fires which prevent you from investing heavily in yourself (esp in the initial stages or whenever opportunities to level up open up)
If you are a student (where money is a non-factor & you probably have tons of free time & energy) I have good news: You are so much ahead of peers who are "adults" that it's not even funny.
If you have savings or have some sort of financial backing then good for you. If you have removed energy-draining toxicities from your life & created useful habits, good for you too.
It IS true that you don't need a TON of investments to get started as a Creator - many tools, information & even skill acquisition come at little to no cost today.
But if the barriers to entry are so low, why don't we see way more people successfully going through the initial 6-12 month grind that every Creator has to overcome?
Because there's a HUGE catch that most "no more excuses" folks never talk about:
Hard vs Easy vs Parallel Mode
Think about your favorite creators. Think about their journey, their background, and their stakes as they built their brand & business.
If you investigate & look for patterns you will find the journeys fall into these 3 modes:
Hard Mode:
Full time, hectic coding day job
Building audience around fitness on the side
No savings to invest in scheduling tools/ coaching
Managing the delicate balance of time, energy & money
Rely on luck, heroic willpower & unnecessary suffering to make it
Why is this so hard?
Because quality consistency for 12 months becomes a miracle in this scenario. This is why 99% of people who start off their Creator journey fail (including my first 4 attempts).
The CCCD framework should tell you how much work it is.
No access to coaching or consulting means the learning curves are twisted & super bloated. Money can shortcut so much wrt unnecessary suffering, I learned this the hard way.
So what is the Easy way?
Easy Mode:
Have 10+ years of comfortable living expenses in savings
Building an audience around personal interests (a niche of one)
Comfortable with investing in tools & help to take useful shortcuts
Have their energy & finances sorted out, peaceful days full of leisure time
Are eager to explore their creativity, test their limits & realize their potential
This sounds WAY easier and more manageable right?
But this is also more unrealistic & impractical for most people out there. Which is why they default to the hard mode.
You have to understand what it takes to reach here-
Years of success in a past career, serious self-development work, and excellent time & money management skills that allow one to amass peace & money simultaneously.
No wonder this path is largely inaccessible, esp when you are in a hurry to start (like me).
Thankfully, there IS a decent middle path (which I am currently on). This is applicable when you have 1 out of money or energy sorted out but are struggling with the other. I like to call it the-
Parallel Mode
Sell a high ticket offer for "Creator" skill like Ghostwriting, video editing etc
Get a small number of clients as you build an audience around that one skill
Use cash flow to invest in tools/ help while saving money & creating more leisure
Gradually expand your brand into your other interests & diversify income streams
Create enough savings, space & peace in your time to pursue things on Easy Mode
As you can see, all 3 modes have their "trade-offs" but regardless of the mode, there are no magical hacks.

The entire point of dissecting these modes is to understand how we can quickly get to a point where we do not need to manage our money & energy as "Currencies" in our everyday choices.
This de-burdens our brains so that we can effectively make trade-off decisions for the most precious resource of all - our time.
Creators and Time
If you have no other option but to pursue the hard mode, I would advise you give up on trying to become a true Creator today.
Seriously.
You are way better off imo, if you can work your way up to the level where the parallel mode is accessible to you: whether it means working on your savings or personal development.
It is arrogant to think that you can be in the top 1% competing against players on Easy mode when you are on the Hard mode.
This way you can earn the "right to pursue the Creator path" in a less risky & more enjoyable way.
But regardless of where you start, there is one key truth you should be ready for:There are NO PATHS to becoming a Creator where you will not need to PERSONALLY invest hours every day (more or less) for years at a stretch.
The only TRUE Factor of Choice for Creators is Time!
My North Star with this newsletter is to help you save time & invest it better in your Creator Journey.
And my future products, workshops & prioritization lists will all pass through this filter. I will go into the "Why" behind Creator Capital's name and existence in part 3 so stay tuned!
